Q: When did you arrive in Tasmania?
A: June 1954

Q: How old were you when you arrived?
A: 23

Q: And where did you find work when you arrived?
A: I worked at the Zinc works in Hobart for 20 years. When I finished at the zinc works I found a job much worse than that…. concreting! I did that also for 20-22 years.

Q: And how are your knees? (laughs)
A: No! My knees are fine I wasn’t a child when I went into concreting, I was a grown man so my knees are okay (laughs)

Q: What was Tasmania like back then?
A: When I arrived there weren’t many Italians in Hobart. There were a few in Poatina/Bosco but not many around Hobart where I was working…
